The idea to build a facility like the Stellplatz on Sněžník came about during our travels in Europe. Such facilities are standard everywhere, allowing tourists travelling by motorhome to park where they are welcome, where facilities are available and where they can get further information about the place they are in.
The place where to build STPL Sněžník was created by demolishing an apartment building (former panel house on Sněžník), which we purchased from the town of Jílové. The apartment house was built in 1970 by the Ministry of the Interior for the needs of the Customs Guard. In January 1971 the house was approved and the flats were handed over to the border guards. After the Czech Republic joined the European Union, border protection ceased to be a priority and the apartment house was handed over to the town of Jílové in 2006. Since then it has been unused and deteriorated. In 2013 we bought the abandoned and derelict building and in the winter of 2013-2014 we demolished the apartment building.

I would like to thank you and praise STPL. It is absolutely unique in the Czech Republic. It is obvious that it was created and run by someone who simply and simply enjoys it. And it is very visible and obvious! It is clear to me that it has cost a lot of money and effort with uncertain returns. I appreciate it all the more and wish many happy clients who will appreciate the huge effort and contribute to making STPL at least a little bit of money for themselves.
Personally, I'd definitely like to come back.
